About the game

In "How To Style Viet Characters" you play as Alex, an international stylist, who is planning a small fashion show on stage during the first Tết festival in Gluecksfurth. The city Gluecksfurth provides Alex with important information and the topic of the walk: It's about representation of vietnamese people in their everyday lives. Alex publishes an ad about the upcoming event and people can apply with their sedcards as a model for Alex' show. Can you help Alex picking suitable models based on their sedcards for the catwalk?

The background

The gaming industry still lacks of representation of B(I)PoC characters and game developers. Without a diverse gaming industry, it's really hard to create authentic B(I)PoC characters in game and they end up as rather stereotypical or racist caricatures.

This game shows players, what diverse and authentic character designs for vietnamese characters could look like or even should NOT look like.

Ofc not everyone knows everything about other people's lives or cultures, that's why a game is a fun medium to teach about new things.

The game  also spreads awareness about the rather invisible anti-asian racism, which still exists nowadays primarily in the western world. It showcases different situations of discrimination and racism, southeast and east asian people have to face in their everyday life living in a western country due to their heritage.
